Finding the Best Refurbished Gaming Laptops
Finding the best gaming laptops are, of course, much different than finding a laptop for college or the workplace. In this section we will provide some tips to help guide you along on your quest to find a great gaming laptop for yourself or another.
First and foremost, one of THE most important items when considering a gaming laptop is graphics.
It is important to be sure that the graphics card is either good enough for most gamers (using chipsets such as Ati Mobility Radeon 9700 or better, Intel Graphic Media, or NVIDIA as well as many other reputable chipsets), or something that can be upgraded in the future so that the gamer can have the right graphics chipset in order to have a steady flowing gaming experience.
However, many will agree that if you are searching for the proper chipset and need to speak with someone at the store or online, one of the better chipsets would be the NVIDIA which can provide a wonderful gaming experience including that of 3D gaming.
Now comes MEMORY. In order for a gamer to have an exciting gaming experience on their gaming laptop, it is important to also consider the amount of RAM that is provided.
RAM is simply the memory needed in order to run different programs at the same time on your computer. If there is not enough and you have too much running…it will slow the computer down as there is not enough RAM memory on the gaming laptop or other computer.
Now, even though there are gaming laptops with over 2 gigs of RAM, this is not always necessary to start off with unless you will be running numerous video streams, 3D graphics and more. Normally 512MB is a great start for a gaming laptop and the ability to upgrade is a plus.
In addition to RAM, there is also VRAM that can be considered and NVIDIA provides a great source for this with their nForce (or better) graphics cards.
What VRAM is is additional RAM that is used to help keep graphics and more flowing properly without those annoying slowdowns just when the game becomes crazy, action-packed!
It is probably the best route to take in reference to a gaming laptop when considering VRAM or huge amounts of RAM in your new laptop as it may save you a lot of money.
VRAM (or video RAM) can provide 128MB and more for graphics and more so be sure to look into this before buying a gaming laptop or refurbished gaming notebook.
With all of the amazing graphics and more that gaming laptops can provide, it is never any fun when it all comes crashing down. We mean, the hard drive shuts down.
A good processor or hard drive with 2 Ghz or more speed is usually the better way to go as well as the latest Intel processor.
As for screen size, the larger the better. The smaller a screen is the harder to can be to play. However, with a larger screen for a gaming laptop, much more of the action can be experienced by the very lucky gamer who receives a gaming laptop as recommended in this section.
